If your child has ever played sports on the turf field at Lum, you’ve experienced the positive impact field improvement projects like this can have on our community. The Shunpike project will dramatically improve youth athletics in Chatham by providing new playing fields that may include lights. The benefits of this are many - a great experience for the community, fewer cancelled games due to rain and increased playing time during the spring and fall seasons.

Improvements include regrading the entire complex and installing two new natural grass baseball fields and a large sided soccer field as well as a multi-purpose synthetic turf field similar to Lum. Initially funds were raised by The ChathamAthletic Foundation in conjunction with the Township and Borough governments to start and nearly complete this very important project. However the magnitude of the project has increased, and the Chatham Athletic Foundation is now launching a fundraising brick campaign to raise additional funds for the Shunpike Field improvements, which may include lighting the fields.

Make a contribution by purchasing a personalized commemorative brick for a new courtyard at the new field complex.
